Following a topic launched on our Facebook group (the Inmotion France Club by New Walkings), we summarize here the mandatory or recommended equipment, which should be adapted to your use, your level and your requirements, while respecting the law.

1)    The helmet
By law, a helmet is only compulsory up to the age of 12, yet we believe it is an essential element. Depending on your vehicle, the type of helmet may be different: simple bicycle helmet, ski helmet or full face motorcycle helmet, the choice is a matter of personal taste. But certainly, it is one of the main protective equipment we absolutely recommend.

2)    The gloves
As with the helmet, gloves are not mandatory regarding the law but we strongly recommend them. In the event of a fall, it will protect your hands - you won't avoid the human reflex of putting their hands in front of you - and in some cases, wrist guards are recommended. Ditto, bicycle or motocycle gloves, big leather gloves: you are spoiled for choice.

3)    The pants, the jacket and the shoes
This seems normal, but pants and a jacket - possibly embellished with elbow and knee pads - are strongly recommended. Wearing closed shoes is compulsory. You do what you want, but in the event of a fall, it is better to be protected.

4)    Reflective equipment
The law says that at night, or during the day with insufficient visibility, and even in built-up areas, you must wear retro-reflective clothing or equipment (for example a vest, an armband, ...). Without turning into a Christmas tree, the important thing here is to be seen. To the fluorescent headband, you can add additional lights, either on your helmet, your bag, your jacket or your personal travel vehicle.

An advantage for the Inmotion EUC with their thousands of sparkling colors according to your mood thanks to multiple LEDs.

5)    Additional equipment
The law also specifies that it is forbidden to wear headphones or any device that may emit sound.
Another good suggestion is to add some kind of mirror - either on your wrist if you are riding an EUC or directly on the scooter.
A portable ringbell can also be a good addition if your vehicle does not have one.
